France names new ambassador to Monaco from 1 September

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Christophe Lemoine has been appointed France's next ambassador to Monaco, replacing Jean d'Haussonville in a handover set for 1 September.

Christophe Lemoine, a career diplomat, was formally designated France's next ambassador to Monaco at a meeting of the French Council of Ministers. He is due to take up his post on 1 September, succeeding Jean d'Haussonville.

Lemoine brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served at French diplomatic missions in Los Angeles and Rome. The ambassadorial post is among the more visible bilateral appointments in Monaco, given the close constitutional and economic ties between the Principality and France.
