The Musée des Timbres et des Monnaies on the Terrasses de Fontvieille opens a new exhibition of over 180 rare stamps tracing the history of transport and communication from 11 May 2026.
From 11 May to 27 September 2026, the Musée des Timbres et des Monnaies on the Terrasses de Fontvieille will host Voyage au fil du timbre, an exhibition drawing together more than 180 rare postage stamps to chart the evolution of transport and communication across the ages.
For collectors and casual visitors alike, the Terrasses de Fontvieille location makes this an easy addition to a afternoon in the district, which already draws residents to its gardens and waterfront. The museum's focus on philately gives the exhibition a depth that goes beyond nostalgia — stamps have long served as miniature records of technological and social change, and a curated selection of 180-plus pieces should offer considerable ground to cover.
The exhibition runs through the summer and into late September, giving residents and their guests a sustained opportunity to visit across the season.
