Two ornamental statues have been reinstalled on the Casino de Monte-Carlo's clock tower as the SBM façade restoration continues behind its trompe-l'oeil screen.
The clock tower of the Casino de Monte-Carlo reached a milestone in its ongoing restoration this week, with two statues successfully returned to their original positions on the façade. The operation, described as delicate, went smoothly and reportedly exceeded expectations.
The work is part of a broader renovation of the Casino's exterior being carried out by the Société des Bains de Mer, the institution that owns and operates the landmark building on the Place du Casino. A trompe-l'oeil screen has been erected to shield the works from view and preserve the visual character of Monte-Carlo's most recognisable address during the restoration period.
