Ukrainian billionaire Vadim Ermolaev has written to Monaco and Kyiv authorities demanding answers after a bomb attack on his family on 29 June left his partner and 13-year-old son gravely injured.
Nearly four weeks after a bomb attack targeted Ukrainian billionaire Vadim Ermolaev and his family in Monaco, he has broken his silence with a formal letter to authorities in both the Principality and Kyiv, pressing for answers on the progress of the investigation. His partner remains in a critical condition, and Ermolaev confirmed she continues to fight for her life.
His 13-year-old son was also seriously injured in the 29 June attack and is understood to remain in a grave state. Ermolaev addressed the letter simultaneously to Monaco's authorities and to officials in Kyiv, signalling he holds both governments responsible for shedding light on what he regards as a targeted assassination attempt against his family.
The attack, which occurred inside the Principality, raised immediate questions about security on Monegasque soil and prompted an investigation by Monaco's judicial authorities. No public claim of responsibility has been made. Ermolaev's decision to write openly to both governments suggests he is dissatisfied with the pace or transparency of proceedings so far.
