Billionaire property magnate David Reuben moves to Monaco

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

David Reuben, the British property billionaire and co-owner of Newcastle United, has taken up residence in Monaco this summer.

David Reuben, one of Britain's wealthiest men with a fortune estimated at £28 billion, has relocated to Monaco over the summer months. The property magnate, who built his empire through Reuben Brothers alongside his brother Simon, also holds a stake in Newcastle United as part of the consortium that took control of the Premier League club in 2021.

His arrival adds to a steady flow of high-net-worth individuals choosing the Principality as a base, drawn by its tax regime, security and proximity to the rest of Europe. For Monaco's property market, such moves tend to reinforce demand at the very top end, where penthouses and villas in areas like Monte-Carlo and La Rousse continue to command premiums well above anywhere else on the coast.

Neither Reuben nor his representatives have commented publicly on the move, which was first reported in the British press. Monaco's population of billionaires and centi-millionaires has grown steadily over the past decade, a trend that shows little sign of slowing as London and other financial centres tighten their tax rules on non-domiciled residents.
