The gathering, titled 'At the Roots of Europe for Peace and Unity', marked the final day of the Pope's four-day tour of France and underscored the importance of religious leadership in contemporary European affairs.
The Sovereign couple's attendance reflects the strengthened bonds between Monaco and the Holy See established during Pope Leo XIV's historic visit to the Principality six months earlier. That visit had drawn considerable crowds and represented one of the most significant religious events Monaco has witnessed in recent years.
The Metz summit brought together key European leaders to discuss the continent's future direction and shared values. The Pope's message centred on encouraging Europe to reconnect with its historical and spiritual roots as a foundation for lasting peace and unity among member states.
