Young Monaco Motorcyclist Receives Mayoral Gold Medal for European Championship Victory
Nineteen-year-old Melvin Viola was honoured by the Mayor with the municipality's highest sporting award following his S2 category European Championship triumph.
The Mayor has recognised the outstanding achievement of local motorcycling talent Melvin Viola, presenting him with the municipal gold medal for sport in a ceremony at the Town Hall's Marriage Room.
The 19-year-old rider earned the prestigious accolade after capturing the European Championship title in the S2 category, marking a significant milestone in his young racing career.
Christophe Greco, president of the Monaco Motorcycle Club, joined the Mayor for the presentation, also awarding Viola his championship trophy during the ceremony held on Monday 23rd February.
The municipal gold medal for sport represents the highest sporting honour bestowed by the Town Hall, reserved for athletes who achieve exceptional results on the international stage whilst representing Monaco.
