The 8th International New Roses Competition at the Princesse Grace Rose Garden is open for public voting across 70 varieties from eight countries.
The Princesse Grace Rose Garden is at the centre of one of the Principality's most quietly prestigious horticultural events, with the 8th International New Roses Competition now open for public voting. Held every two years, the competition is organised jointly by the Association des Amis de la Roseraie Princesse Grace, chaired by Yves Piaget, and the Direction de l'Aménagement Urbain of the Prince's Government.
This edition has attracted 70 previously unseen rose varieties, submitted by 16 growers representing eight countries. Entries span four categories: Hybrid Tea, Multi-flower, Ground Cover, and Miniature, offering a genuine breadth of form and colour across the garden's current display.
Residents and visitors are invited to cast their vote for a favourite variety, adding a public dimension to what is otherwise a specialist judging process. For those who walk through Fontvieille regularly, the competition is a chance to see the garden at its most varied, with varieties that may never appear commercially making a rare appearance in the Principality.
