Vote now in Monaco's rose competition

By Laurent Duval, MonacoViews Editorial

The 8th International New Roses Competition at the Princesse Grace Rose Garden is open for public voting across 70 varieties from eight countries.

The Princesse Grace Rose Garden is once again at the centre of one of the Principality's most distinctive horticultural events, as the 8th International New Roses Competition opens its public vote. Held every two years, the competition is jointly organised by the Association des Amis de la Roseraie Princesse Grace, chaired by Yves Piaget, and the Direction de l'Aménagement Urbain of the Prince's Government.

This year's edition attracted entries from sixteen growers across eight countries, with 70 new rose varieties submitted for assessment across four categories: Hybrid Tea, Floribunda, Ground Cover, and Miniature. The breadth of international participation reflects the competition's standing among professional rose breeders worldwide.

Residents and visitors can now cast their vote for a favourite variety, giving the public a direct say alongside the expert jury. For anyone who spends time in the Rose Garden, particularly in spring, it is a rare chance to help shape which new varieties may eventually find their way into one of Monaco's most cherished green spaces.
