UPAINT Urban Art Festival Returns to Larvotto for Its Tenth Year

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Fifteen artists gather on the Promenade du Larvotto this weekend as the UPAINT festival marks a decade of urban art in Monaco, running until Thursday.

The Promenade du Larvotto becomes an open-air gallery this weekend as UPAINT, Monaco's urban art festival, celebrates its tenth anniversary. Fifteen artists are taking part in this year's edition, which runs from Saturday 20 June through to Thursday 25 June.

Alongside the murals and live painting sessions, the programme includes artist meet-and-greet events and a junior competition aimed at younger residents and visitors. The festival has a charitable dimension this year, in keeping with the milestone occasion.

For those who follow Monaco's arts calendar, UPAINT has become a reliable fixture each June on the Larvotto waterfront, drawing a crowd that sits well outside the usual gallery circuit. The tenth edition is the largest the festival has staged.
