UPAINT Urban Art Festival Marks Its 10th Edition at Larvotto

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

The UPAINT urban art festival is celebrating its tenth anniversary on the Larvotto promenade, running until Thursday 25 June 2026.

Now in its tenth year, UPAINT has grown into one of Monaco's most distinctive recurring cultural fixtures. The festival has been staged on the Larvotto promenade since 2023, giving it a permanent seafront identity after earlier editions tested different corners of the Principality.

Urban art has never had an obvious home in Monaco. The Principality's tightly controlled built environment leaves little room for the kind of large-scale wall work that defines the genre elsewhere in Europe, which makes UPAINT's longevity here all the more notable. The festival creates a temporary canvas where that constraint is lifted, drawing artists and audiences who would not normally associate the Riviera's most compact state with street culture.

This anniversary edition runs through Thursday, giving residents and visitors a few remaining days to take it in along the Larvotto waterfront.
