Travel disruption expected across Monaco on 1 May

By Laurent Duval, MonacoViews Editorial

Public holiday traffic and event-related road changes are expected to affect movement across the Principality on 1 May 2026.

With the 1 May public holiday falling on a Friday this year, residents and visitors should expect disruption to normal traffic patterns across the Principality. The combination of a long weekend and any associated events or ceremonies typically concentrates movement through Monaco's already-limited road network, making advance planning worthwhile.

If you are driving, allow extra time on routes through the centre, particularly around the Place du Palais and along the port. Public transport remains the most reliable option on days like this, and the principality's bus network generally maintains its service schedule through most public holidays.

Monaco Service Public advises residents to check current notices for any specific road closures or parking restrictions that may apply in your district before heading out.
