Teze wins over AS Monaco coaches with positional versatility

Jordan Teze has impressed in two matches at centre-back for AS Monaco ahead of Sunday's trip to Paris FC.
Jordan Teze has settled into an unfamiliar role at the heart of AS Monaco's defence over the past two matches, and the early signs have been encouraging enough that his name keeps surfacing when selection is discussed at La Turbie. The Dutch international, more commonly associated with the full-back positions, has delivered a level of performance that suggests the switch is no accident.
That adaptability is not new for Teze. He has moved between defensive roles throughout his career, a trait that has made him increasingly difficult for opposition coaches to plan against and increasingly valuable to his own. For a squad managing fixture congestion and squad rotation, having a player who can slot into central defence without a drop in output gives the coaching staff genuine tactical flexibility.
Monaco travel to the Stade Sébastien Charléty on Sunday to face Paris FC, with kick-off at 17h15. How Teze is used against a Paris FC side building its own identity in Ligue 1 will offer a clearer picture of whether this centre-back experiment becomes a longer-term fixture of Monaco's backline.
