Studio de Monaco Brings French Theatre to Italian Capital During Francophonie Month

Monaco's renowned theatre group performed to enthusiastic audiences at the principality's embassy in Rome as part of March's Francophonie celebrations.

The principality's celebrated theatre company brought the magic of French-language drama to Rome last month, staging special performances at Monaco's Italian embassy during the annual Francophonie Month celebrations.

The production, recognised as one of the most performed French-language plays globally, drew packed audiences of francophile theatre lovers to the embassy venue on 26th March. The same work had previously earned the Studio de Monaco a semi-finalist position in the prestigious Masque d'Or competition back in 2020.

The evening welcomed distinguished guests including Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy, who serves as the theatre group's honorary president, alongside association president Béatrice Cellario. The performances provided Roman audiences with an opportunity to discover Monaco's significant cultural contributions to the French-speaking world.

These embassy presentations demonstrate how the principality continues to champion francophone arts beyond its borders, using cultural diplomacy to strengthen ties with international audiences while showcasing the talent emerging from Monaco's vibrant theatre scene.
