Matthew Strazel has signed a two-year deal with Turkish club Anadolu Efes, ending a four-year stint with the Roca Team following their 2026 French championship triumph.
Four years after arriving in the Principality, French international guard Matthew Strazel has left the Roca Team for Anadolu Efes, one of European basketball's most decorated clubs. The 22-year-old departs having helped Monaco clinch the 2026 French championship title, signing off on what has been a defining chapter in his young career.
Efes confirmed the deal this week, with Strazel committed to the Istanbul club on a two-year contract. The Turkish outfit retain an option beyond that initial term, underlining the confidence they have placed in the young Frenchman as they look to rebuild their standing in EuroLeague competition.
The departure is a significant one for Salle Gaston Médecin. Strazel had developed into one of the most reliable backcourt options in the Betclic Elite, and replacing that consistency will be among the Roca Team's priorities as they prepare for another tilt at domestic and European honours in the 2026-27 season.
