Three young engineers are deploying a precision data-logging device at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, with their start-up also named among five finalists at MonacoTech.
The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge is providing a live testing ground this week for a compact data-logging device developed by three early-career engineers. The unit is designed to capture highly precise performance data from competing vessels, giving teams granular insight into energy consumption, propulsion efficiency and system behaviour in real racing conditions.
The start-up behind the technology has also reached the final five at MonacoTech, the Principality's accelerator programme, selected from a field of more than 100 applicants. The double exposure, competitive racing validation alongside institutional recognition, puts the team in a strong position as sustainable maritime technology attracts growing attention from both the yachting industry and Monaco's innovation ecosystem.
The Energy Boat Challenge, organised by the Yacht Club de Monaco, has become one of the more serious proving grounds for clean propulsion concepts in the Mediterranean. For a small team using the event to demonstrate a product rather than simply compete, the timing and the audience could not be better chosen.
