Six new ambassadors accredited to the Principality

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Canada, South Korea, Burundi, El Salvador, Thailand and Lebanon have each accredited a new ambassador to Monaco.

Six new ambassadors have been accredited to represent their countries in the Principality, covering Canada, South Korea, Burundi, El Salvador, Thailand and Lebanon.

Accreditation is the formal step required before a foreign envoy can officially take up their post and begin representing their government's interests in Monaco. The six nations already maintain diplomatic ties with the Principality, and the new appointments point to Monaco's continuing role as host to an expanding corps of resident and non-resident diplomats.

For the business community and residents connected to these countries, whether through Canadian finance, Thai hospitality investment or the wider Lebanese and Central American diaspora, the changeover in diplomatic representation can shape future bilateral cooperation, trade links and cultural programming in the Principality.
