SBM to start Monte-Carlo Bay and Thermes Marins works in 2027

The Société des Bains de Mer will begin two major property projects in 2027, raising the Monte-Carlo Bay hotel and rebuilding the Thermes Marins.
The Société des Bains de Mer has confirmed that two significant construction projects will get underway during 2027, both forming part of the property development strategy set out by président délégué Stéphane Valeri. The first involves adding extra floors to the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort on the Larvotto seafront, increasing the property's capacity without extending its footprint. The second is a full renovation of the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo, which will be reworked into what SBM is calling 'thermes-terrasses', a terraced reconfiguration of the wellness complex overlooking the harbour.
Both schemes sit within a longer-term roadmap that SBM expects to carry through the next decade, reflecting the group's continued investment in its flagship hospitality assets rather than new-build expansion. For residents and property owners in the Larvotto and Monte-Carlo districts, the works signal a sustained period of construction activity around two of the Principality's best-known addresses, though SBM has not yet detailed timelines for completion or the scale of disruption expected during the build phases.
