Rowland wins Monaco E-Prix Race 2 from eighth on grid

By Laurent Duval, MonacoViews Editorial

Oliver Rowland drove a composed and calculated race through a shifting field to claim Race 2 of the Monaco E-Prix double-header on Sunday.

Starting from eighth on the grid, Nissan's Oliver Rowland worked his way through a chaotic field on the streets of Monaco to take victory in Race 2 of the Formula E double-header on Sunday. The win further consolidates his position at the top of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship standings as he looks to defend his title.

Formula E races in Monaco follow the same Circuit de Monaco layout used by Formula 1, threading through Sainte-Dévote, up the hill to Casino Square and through the tunnel before the harbour-front chicane. The tight, low-grip street circuit places a premium on energy management and strategic decision-making, areas where Rowland and the Nissan team have shown consistent strength across the 2026 season.

The double-header format brought two races to the Principality across the weekend, with Sunday's result confirming Rowland as one of the dominant forces in the championship. His ability to convert a midfield starting position into an outright win underlines the form he and the Nissan outfit have carried through the current campaign.
