Roca Team grind out overtime win in Strasbourg

AS Monaco Basket secured a hard-fought 118-114 overtime victory at Strasbourg in round 28 of the French championship, keeping their domestic campaign on track.
It was not pretty, but it was necessary. With the Euroleague situation turning difficult following a 2-0 series deficit against Olympiakos, Sasa Obradovic's side could not afford any slippage on the home front, and they duly delivered in Strasbourg on Sunday, edging a tense encounter 118-114 after overtime.
The result matters beyond the two points in the Betclic Elite standings. A stumble away from the Salle Gaston Médecin this weekend would have compounded the pressure heading into what promises to be a defining week in European competition. Instead, the Roca Team return to the Principality with a win banked, however uncomfortable the manner of it.
