Roca Team face Paris final without James or Theis

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

AS Monaco Basket head into the Pro A championship final against Paris missing two key players, with the first leg set for Sunday at 17:00.

The Roca Team travel to Paris this Sunday for the opening leg of the Pro A championship final facing a significant selection problem: Mike James remains absent due to a pay dispute, the same issue that kept the American point guard out of the semi-final against Nanterre.

German international centre Daniel Theis is also ruled out, unable to recover in time from a fracture to the index finger on his right hand. Monaco will therefore contest both legs of the title decider in the same configuration that saw them past Nanterre in the last four.

The first game tips off at 17:00 on Sunday in Paris. Should Monaco win the series, it would be a title claimed despite the absence of two of the squad's highest-profile names throughout the decisive stages of the season.
