Roca Team face must-win Game 4 against Paris in Elite final

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

AS Monaco Basket must beat Paris Basket on Sunday to level the Betclic Elite final series after losing Game 3 by eleven points on Friday.

The Roca Team go into Sunday evening's Game 4 of the Betclic Elite final at 1-2 down in the series, following Friday's 77-88 defeat to Paris Basket. With their backs against the wall, the mood inside the squad is clear: lose and the title is gone.

Forward Terry Tarpey and big man Yoan Makoundou both spoke after Friday's defeat, acknowledging the scale of the task while insisting the team has the character to respond. Tarpey described the situation in blunt terms, framing it as a matter of pride as much as tactics. Makoundou pointed to the adjustments Monaco must make to disrupt a Paris side that has outplayed them in two of the last three games.

A win on Sunday at the Salle Gaston Médecin would force a decisive Game 5, keeping Monaco's championship hopes alive. Anything less hands Paris Basket their first Betclic Elite title and ends what has been a tightly contested final series.
