AS Monaco Basket's Euroleague campaign ended at Gaston-Médecin on Tuesday, as a depleted squad fell 82-105 to Olympiakos in the quarter-final decider.
The Salle Gaston-Médecin saw the curtain fall on AS Monaco Basket's Euroleague season on Tuesday evening, with the Roca Team beaten 82-105 by Olympiakos to complete a 3-0 quarter-final sweep in favour of the Greek side. The result was rarely in doubt, with the Piraeus club arriving in the Principality as the regular-season's top-ranked team and playing accordingly.
Monaco's task was made considerably harder by an injury crisis that reduced the available roster to just eight players. Outnumbered and outmatched from the opening minutes, the Roca Team could not contain an Olympiakos side that shot with consistent accuracy throughout and built an advantage that was beyond closing.
Despite the heavy defeat, the quarter-final appearance itself represents a meaningful benchmark for a club still building its presence at European basketball's highest level. Attention will now turn to the remainder of the domestic campaign and preparations for next season.
