Red Cross opens its doors for first aid awareness day

By Laurent Duval, MonacoViews Editorial

The Monaco Red Cross marked International Red Cross Day on 8 May with a public event offering hands-on first aid workshops and interactive activities for all ages.

The Monaco Red Cross threw open its doors on 8 May to mark International Red Cross Day with a full programme of community-focused activities. Residents of all ages were welcome to drop in and take part in introductory first aid sessions covering basic rescue techniques, alongside interactive quizzes and educational displays.

The day centred on three themes that sit at the heart of the organisation's work in the Principality: solidarity, prevention, and community support. For many visitors, it offered a first opportunity to get hands-on with life-saving skills in an informal, approachable setting.

Events like this carry particular weight in a community as compact as Monaco, where knowing your neighbours and being prepared to act in an emergency can make a real difference. The Red Cross remains one of the most active civic institutions in the Principality, and days like this help keep that connection with local residents alive.
