Rainier III Technical College Launches Monaco's First Wine Sommelier Programme
The Principality's only hospitality school introduces a pioneering one-year wine specialisation course starting September 2024.
The Lycée Technique et Hôtelier Rainier III will welcome its first cohort of aspiring wine professionals this September, marking a significant milestone in Monaco's culinary education landscape. The new Certificate of Specialisation in Sommellerie represents the first programme of its kind offered within the Principality.
This one-year post-baccalaureate course opens its doors to graduates from all academic backgrounds, reflecting the diverse paths that lead to careers in wine service. The initiative directly addresses growing demand from Monaco's prestigious restaurant sector, where skilled wine professionals are increasingly sought after.
The programme aims to cultivate the next generation of sommeliers, wine merchants, and beverage specialists who will serve the Principality's world-renowned hospitality industry. Students will gain comprehensive training in wine knowledge, service techniques, and the commercial aspects of wine retail, positioning them for careers in Monaco's luxury dining establishments and wine commerce.
