Monaco's rail connections will be interrupted on 10 and 11 November 2026, with the Princely Government urging residents to adjust travel plans accordingly.
Rail services serving Monaco will be suspended on 10 and 11 November 2026, the Princely Government has confirmed. The interruption affects the principality's connections along the coastal line linking Monaco to Nice and the Italian border, a route many residents rely on for daily commutes and onward travel.
The Government is urging those affected to plan ahead wherever possible. Recommended measures include postponing non-essential journeys, working from home where feasible, and adjusting leave or working hours for staff who would otherwise need to travel during the closure.
For those who still need to move around during the two-day suspension, car-sharing and local public transport, including Monaco's bus network, are being promoted as the main alternatives. Commuters who typically use the train to reach offices in Nice, Menton or across the border into Italy should expect longer journey times and should check alternative routes in advance.
With the SNCF line forming a key artery for Monaco's workforce and residents who live beyond the principality's borders, the two-day gap is likely to have a noticeable knock-on effect on road traffic, particularly along the Moyenne Corniche and the A8 motorway, as commuters seek alternatives to rail.
