Princess Stephanie toured a new Monaco accommodation facility for people with disabilities, guided by two residents who benefit from the scheme.
Princess Stephanie visited a new residential facility in the Principality designed for people with disabilities, accompanied by Christophe Robino, Minister of Social Affairs and Health, and Mikaël Palmaro, representing the President of the National Council. Also present were Victoria Campana, Deputy Director of Social Action and Aid, along with Jean-François Calmes and Robert Laure, President and Vice-President of AMAPEI's board of directors.
Two beneficiaries of the scheme led the Princess through the premises, giving her a first-hand account of daily life at the facility. The visit underlines Monaco's continued investment in housing solutions for residents with disabilities, an area where demand has grown alongside the Principality's ageing population and long waiting lists for adapted accommodation.
AMAPEI, the association representing parents and friends of people with intellectual disabilities, has worked closely with the government's social affairs department to expand provision in recent years. The new facility adds to a limited stock of specialist housing in Monaco, where space constraints make purpose-built accommodation for vulnerable residents particularly scarce.
