The Princess has completed extensive renovations at the SPA Monaco refuge in Peille, creating enhanced living conditions for dozens of rescued animals.
Princess Charlène and Prince Albert have officially opened the completed renovation works at Monaco's SPA animal shelter in Peille, marking the end of a major improvement project designed to enhance animal welfare.
The comprehensive upgrades took several months to complete and focused on creating superior comfort conditions for the approximately 60 dogs and cats currently housed at the facility. Key improvements include the installation of a dedicated cat café area, new outdoor exercise parks for the animals, and advanced soundproofing systems for the kennels to reduce stress and noise levels.
The shelter renovations represent a significant investment in animal welfare infrastructure, providing rescued pets with improved living environments whilst they await adoption. The enhanced facilities are expected to contribute to better health outcomes and increased adoption rates for the animals in care.
The SPA Monaco refuge in Peille serves as the principality's primary animal rescue and rehabilitation centre, working to provide temporary homes for abandoned and stray animals across the region.
