The Sovereign joined schoolchildren in Saint-Martin Gardens for the 10th anniversary of Monaco's 'Flowers for the Bees' initiative, promoting pollinator protection.
The Sovereign participated in a special celebration at Saint-Martin Gardens on Wednesday, marking a decade of Monaco's commitment to bee conservation through the 'Flowers for the Bees' campaign. The anniversary event brought together His Serene Highness with ten pupils from François d'Assise–Nicolas Barré Institution to highlight the critical role pollinators play in maintaining biodiversity.
The long-running initiative demonstrates Monaco's dedication to environmental stewardship, with the French Observatory of Apidology lending expertise to the educational programme. By engaging young people directly in conservation efforts, the campaign ensures the next generation understands the vital connection between pollinators and healthy ecosystems.
Saint-Martin Gardens provided the perfect backdrop for this environmental education, where children could observe firsthand the relationship between flowering plants and the bees that depend on them. The decade-long programme represents one of Monaco's key strategies for protecting local biodiversity whilst fostering environmental awareness among its youngest residents.
