Prince Albert II Foundation takes conservation message to Rome

By Megan Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

An exhibition of winning images from the Foundation's Environmental Photography Prize was presented to diplomats in Rome, marking two decades of biodiversity work.

The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation brought its environmental photography exhibition to Rome on 1 June, showcasing awarded images from the first five editions of its Environmental Photography Prize to an audience of diplomats and public figures. The event was held under the patronage of Monaco's Ambassador to Italy.

Now 20 years in existence, the Foundation used the occasion to highlight its role in raising global awareness of biodiversity loss and in supporting concrete conservation initiatives worldwide. The diplomatic setting underlined the Foundation's consistent approach of engaging policymakers and international institutions directly, rather than limiting its advocacy to Monaco or the wider Mediterranean region.

The Environmental Photography Prize has become one of the Foundation's most visible outreach tools, using competition-winning images to communicate the urgency of environmental protection to audiences beyond the scientific community.
