By MonacoViews Editorial, MonacoViews Editorial

The Sovereign met the founders of the ocean conservation vessel to discuss plastic pollution and sustainable innovation.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II visited the Plastic Odyssey, the ocean conservation vessel dedicated to combating plastic pollution worldwide. The Sovereign was welcomed aboard by Simon Bernard, founder and president of the Plastic Odyssey initiative, for a detailed exchange on the project's progress and ambitions.

The visit reflects Prince Albert II's long-standing commitment to ocean preservation and environmental innovation, causes that have defined much of his public engagement. The Plastic Odyssey project promotes practical solutions for plastic waste reduction, particularly in developing nations where recycling infrastructure remains limited.

The encounter provided an opportunity to discuss collaborative opportunities between the Principality's environmental programmes and the vessel's ongoing global mission.
