Prince Albert honours young Monegasque language winners

The annual Monegasque Language Competition prize-giving took place at Monaco City Hall's Cour d'Honneur on Wednesday, 17 June, in the presence of Prince Albert II.
The Cour d'Honneur at Monaco City Hall was the setting on Wednesday evening for the annual Monegasque Language Competition ceremony, with Prince Albert II joining Mayor Georges Marsan, Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy and Minister of State Christophe Mirmand to honour the year's top young performers in the Principality's native tongue.
As is customary, the evening opened with the Monegasque anthem before prizes were awarded to students who had distinguished themselves in the competition. The event reflects the Principality's sustained effort to keep the Monegasque language alive across generations, a priority embedded in the school curriculum and supported at the highest levels of government.
For residents and families with children in Monaco's schools, the competition represents one of the more visible expressions of that commitment, drawing together the civil, civic and royal institutions around a shared cultural cause each June.
