Monaco's Ambassador to Portugal hosted 250 guests at Estoril's historic Forte da Cruz to commemorate Prince Albert's accession to the throne.
The picturesque Forte da Cruz castle in Estoril provided a magnificent backdrop for celebrations marking Prince Albert II's thirteenth year on Monaco's throne. Ambassador Henrique de Polignac Mascarenhas de Barros and Vice Consul Diane de Polignac de Barros welcomed an impressive gathering to honour this significant milestone.
The reception drew 250 distinguished guests, reflecting the strong diplomatic ties between the Principality and Portugal. Senior Portuguese officials attended from across government, including representatives from the President's Office, various ministries, and the Assembly of the Republic.
The choice of venue underscored the grandeur of the occasion. Forte da Cruz, a historic fortress overlooking the Atlantic coast near Lisbon, has long served as a symbol of Portuguese heritage and provided an elegant setting for this diplomatic celebration.
Such anniversary receptions at Monaco's embassies worldwide have become an annual tradition, strengthening the Principality's international relationships whilst celebrating Prince Albert's continued leadership since his accession in 2005.
