Place d'Armes car park to close for six weeks of structural works

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

The car park beneath Place d'Armes in central Monaco will shut temporarily while the mairie carries out reinforcement works on the structure.

The car park at Place d'Armes, one of the most central and well-used in the Principality, is set to close for approximately six weeks to allow structural reinforcement works to proceed. The closure has been announced by the mairie de Monaco and is described as temporary, with the facility expected to reopen once the works are complete.

The timing will affect residents, market visitors and anyone who relies on Place d'Armes as a starting point for the Condamine and surrounding neighbourhoods. The square hosts the daily covered market, meaning footfall in the area remains high throughout the closure period and alternative parking arrangements will be worth planning in advance.

No replacement or diversion details have been confirmed in the announcement, but drivers familiar with the area may wish to consider the nearby Parking des Pêcheurs or other municipal facilities in La Condamine while works are under way.
