Parc Princesse-Antoinette gains new feathered residents

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

Four ducks and two hens from Monaco's Jardin Animalier have moved to Parc Princesse-Antoinette while their home undergoes renovation works.

Parc Princesse-Antoinette, the green hillside retreat above Fontvieille, has taken in six new residents - four ducks and two hens - relocated from Monaco's Jardin Animalier while that facility is closed for works.

The temporary transfer keeps the animals in public view and gives families visiting the park an unexpected addition to the usual surroundings. The Jardin Animalier, which sits within the Exotic Garden complex on the upper Rock, has long been a quiet favourite with younger residents and visitors, and the arrangement ensures continuity of care during the renovation period. No reopening date for the Jardin Animalier has been announced.
