Palace exhibition marks 70 years since Rainier and Grace's wedding

The Grands Appartements of the Palais Princier open a new archive exhibition on 18 June tracing the 1956 royal wedding through more than 500 period documents.
Seventy years after Prince Rainier III married Grace Kelly in what became one of the most watched events of the twentieth century, the Palais Princier is marking the anniversary with a dedicated exhibition opening to the public on Thursday 18 June. The show is housed in the Grands Appartements and draws on more than 500 archive documents assembled into a structured, chronological journey through the wedding and its build-up.
The material ranges from official correspondence and photographs to personal items from the period, giving visitors a close reading of an event that transformed both Monaco's global profile and the lives of the two families at its centre. For residents and regular visitors to the Rock, the setting inside the working palace adds a layer of context that no museum loan could replicate.
The exhibition runs through the summer season. Entry to the Grands Appartements follows standard Palais Princier visiting arrangements; visitors should check the palace website for current opening hours before travelling up to Monaco-Ville.
