Seventeen-year-old violinist Aozhe Zhang, unanimous winner of the 58th Premio Paganini, performed with the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra on 13 May.
Aozhe Zhang took to the Salle Garnier stage on 13 May for a performance that capped a remarkable twelve months for the young Chinese violinist. At 17, Zhang became the youngest-ever unanimous winner of the Premio Paganini at its 58th edition in 2025, a competition that has launched some of the most significant solo careers in classical music over the past six decades.
The Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra provided the accompaniment for an evening that drew a full house to the Opera House. For Monaco's classical music audience, the concert offered a rare opportunity to hear a competition laureate of this calibre perform so shortly after their prize-winning moment, before the international touring circuit absorbs them fully.
