Over 1,300 dogs descend on Fontvieille this weekend

By Laurent Duval, MonacoViews Editorial

The Société Canine de Monaco brings 258 breeds under the Fontvieille big top for two days of international competition on 9 and 10 May.

The big top in Fontvieille is hosting one of the Principality's more spectacular annual gatherings this weekend, as the Société Canine de Monaco stages its 2026 International Dog Show across Saturday and Sunday. More than 1,300 dogs representing 258 recognised breeds will be competing across a range of categories over the two days.

For residents in the Fontvieille district, it is worth accounting for additional foot traffic around the exhibition tent this weekend. The show draws serious breeders and enthusiasts from across Europe, making it a genuine international fixture on the canine calendar rather than a local curiosity.
