Triathlon Olympic gold medallist Cassandre Beaugrand becomes first French runner to complete 10km under 31 minutes, clocking 30:52 in Lille.

Olympic triathlon champion Cassandre Beaugrand has made athletics history by becoming the first French runner to break the 31-minute barrier for 10 kilometres on the road.

The Monaco Athletic Club member achieved the milestone during a race in Lille on 4th April, stopping the clock at an exceptional 30 minutes and 52 seconds. This performance not only established a new French national record but also marked a significant breakthrough in French distance running.

Beaugrand's achievement adds another remarkable chapter to her already impressive career, which reached its pinnacle with Olympic triathlon gold. Her association with Monaco Athletic Club continues to strengthen the Principality's reputation as a hub for elite athletic talent.

The sub-31-minute 10km represents a psychological and physical barrier that few athletes achieve, making Beaugrand's performance all the more significant for French athletics and her Monaco-based training programme.
