More than 1,000 pupils from France and across the Mediterranean competed at the Oceanographic Museum this week in the 12th Oceano pour Tous contest.
The Oceanographic Museum brought the curtain down on the 12th edition of Oceano pour Tous on 10 June, welcoming young competitors who had spent months designing escape games, board games and display panels aimed at raising awareness of ocean and sea protection. More than 1,000 pupils from schools across France and the wider Mediterranean region took part in this year's edition.
The contest is built on a deliberate logic: target children because they carry the message home to their families. That intergenerational approach has made Oceano pour Tous one of the more consistent environmental education programmes anchored in Monaco, running annually through the museum's outreach work.
For residents and visitors passing through the Oceanographic Museum on Avenue Saint-Martin, the closing ceremony served as a reminder of the institution's role as a working scientific and educational body, not merely a heritage attraction. The winning entries are typically displayed within the museum, giving the young participants a public platform in one of the Principality's most visited buildings.
