Nice-Ventimiglia rail line to shut for two days in November

SNCF Réseau will suspend all train services through Monaco/Monte-Carlo station for engineering works on 10 and 11 November.
Commuters who rely on the coastal line should mark their calendars now. SNCF Réseau has confirmed that services between Nice and Ventimiglia, including the stop at Monaco/Monte-Carlo station, will be suspended for the whole of Tuesday, 10 November, with disruption continuing into the following day.
The closure forms part of major engineering works on the line, though the operator has not yet detailed the exact scope of the project. For residents who cross the border daily for work, or visitors arriving by rail for a short stay in the Principality, the shutdown means alternative transport will be needed for at least two days.
SNCF has not confirmed replacement bus services at this stage, so passengers planning to travel through Monaco on those dates should check for updates closer to the time. Anyone with early November travel plans involving the Monaco/Monte-Carlo station would do well to build in extra time or consider rerouting via road.
