The Monte-Carlo Television Festival returns to the Grimaldi Forum this Friday for a five-day run through Tuesday, celebrating its 65th edition with a programme that stretches well beyond traditional television. Michel Drucker, Kristin Scott Thomas and Esther Exposito are among the names confirmed, lending the anniversary a weight that matches the occasion.
Organisers have made a deliberate effort to attract younger audiences this year, reflecting the shift in how people consume screen content. Alongside the established series competition, the festival is giving formal space to digital productions, acknowledging that the boundary between broadcast, streaming and online-first content has effectively dissolved.
For residents and visitors, the Grimaldi Forum will be the centre of activity from 13 to 17 June, with public screenings, industry panels and red-carpet events scheduled across the week. The festival has always carried a certain significance for the Principality, given its founding ties to the Palace, and the 65th anniversary is being treated as a milestone worth marking properly.
