Monte-Carlo Film Festival names first guests for 2026 edition

The Grimaldi Forum will host the comedy festival from 11 to 14 November 2026, with director Fausto Brizzi chairing the jury.

The Monte-Carlo Film Festival de la Comédie returns for its 23rd edition this November, with the Grimaldi Forum confirmed as host venue from 11 to 14 November 2026. Organisers have begun unveiling the guest list, with Paul Belmondo, Luc Besson and Sergio Castellitto among the first names announced for a festival built entirely around comic cinema.

Italian director Fausto Brizzi will chair this year's jury, continuing the event's tradition of drawing figures from both French and Italian film circles. The festival has carved out a specific niche on the Riviera calendar, focusing solely on comedy at a time when most European festivals chase prestige drama.

For residents, the week brings a reliable influx of screenings, public appearances and industry figures to the Grimaldi Forum, adding to Monaco's autumn cultural calendar alongside the usual business conference traffic through the venue. More names are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks as the full programme takes shape ahead of November.
