La Petite Afrique, a residential building in Monte-Carlo, was evacuated on Wednesday morning after Monaco's fire brigade identified a crack in a load-bearing wall in the basement. The evacuation was carried out as a precautionary measure while residents await a structural assessment from an independent expert.
The expert's inspection will determine the extent of the damage and whether the building is safe to reoccupy. No timeline for residents to return has been confirmed at this stage. Monaco's fire service is overseeing the operation on site.
