Monarègles brings free period products to Monaco public spaces

The SheCanHeCan association is expanding its Monarègles scheme beyond schools and workplaces to reach public venues across the Principality.
SheCanHeCan, a Monegasque association, has been quietly building one of the Principality's more practical public health initiatives. Its Monarègles programme distributes free menstrual products, including tampons and sanitary towels, across schools, companies and, now, a growing number of public spaces in Monaco.
The expansion into public venues marks a shift in the project's ambition. What began as a workplace and classroom scheme is now targeting the broader question of access, with the association pushing to place dispensers in public toilets throughout the Principality. For residents and regular visitors, that means the products should, in time, be as easy to find as hand soap.
Beyond the practical logistics, SheCanHeCan is using Monarègles to challenge the stigma that still surrounds menstruation in everyday conversation. The association argues that normalising the subject, in offices, schools and public life, is as important as the physical provision of products. Monaco, with its compact geography and tight-knit institutional networks, offers a useful testing ground for that kind of cultural shift.
