Monaco's Summer Carnival Returns to the Rock on 3 July

By Laurent Duval, MonacoViews Editorial

The Mairie de Monaco's U Sciaratu summer carnival comes back to the Old Town on 3 July, this year themed around fantastic animals.

U Sciaratu, the Mairie de Monaco's summer carnival, returns to the Rock on Friday 3 July with a new theme built around fantastic animals. The event, which winds through the streets of Monaco-Ville, is one of the few popular community celebrations on the Principality's calendar that draws residents of all ages rather than a visiting crowd.

The fantastic animals theme gives organisers room to stage elaborate costumes, floats and street performances suited to an early-summer evening on the Rocher. Families living in and around Monaco-Ville can expect the usual mix of procession, music and open-air festivity that has made previous editions a fixture in the local diary. Further details on the programme and timings are expected from the Mairie in the weeks ahead.
