Monaco's first public breastfeeding bench selected by jury

The Entreparents network has chosen a winning design from Pavillon Bosio art students for a dedicated breastfeeding bench to be installed in the Principality.
A jury convened on Tuesday 23 June to select the winning design for what would become the first dedicated public breastfeeding bench in Monaco. The project was initiated by Entreparents, a local parenting support network, which in May launched a design competition open to visual arts students at the Pavillon Bosio, the Principality's higher school of art and stage design.
The chosen piece of street furniture is not yet finalised in its current form. The selected design will continue to evolve before an official inauguration date is confirmed, with refinements expected between now and installation. The initiative is part of a broader effort by Entreparents to shift attitudes towards parenting in public spaces across Monaco.
For residents with young children, the project signals a practical shift in how the Principality approaches family-friendly infrastructure in its public realm. Monaco's compact urban environment means that nursing mothers currently rely on café terraces or private spaces, and a purpose-built bench would mark a visible change in policy and social attitude.
