Monaco-Ventimiglia rail disruption to last until November

TER regional train services between Monaco and the Italian border have been disrupted since 9 July following a track-damaging accident at Roquebrune-Cap-Martin.
Rail passengers travelling between Monaco and Ventimiglia have been dealing with significant disruption since 9 July, when a train struck and damaged track infrastructure at Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. Repair works on the line have been under way since the incident, affecting TER regional services that many Monaco residents and cross-border workers rely on daily.
Jean-Pierre Serrus, the Région Sud vice-president responsible for transport, has indicated that repair works are expected to conclude by 31 October, pointing to a return to normal services from 1 November. No official guarantee has been given, and the timeline remains contingent on works progressing as planned.
For commuters based in Monaco who travel east toward Menton and the Italian border, or those arriving from Ventimiglia, the disruption has meant altered schedules and replacement services throughout the summer months. Passengers are advised to check SNCF and Région Sud service updates before travelling.
