Monaco has assumed the Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, with Minister Isabelle Berro-Amadeï representing the Principality at a session covering Ukraine, migration and foreign interference.
The Principality has taken up the rotating Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, marking a significant moment in Monaco's engagement with European multilateral institutions. Minister Isabelle Berro-Amadeï led the delegation at the ministerial session, calling on member states to uphold the fundamental principles and shared values that bind the Council's 46 member countries.
The session covered a demanding agenda, including progress on establishing a special tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine, the state of democratic resilience across European nations, the management of international migration flows, and coordinated efforts to counter foreign interference and information manipulation. These are issues on which Monaco, as a small but active member state, has consistently sought to punch above its weight in international forums.
For residents and property owners in the Principality, the presidency underlines Monaco's standing as a credible diplomatic actor within European institutions - relevant context for those with interests in the cross-border legal and regulatory frameworks that affect life and business here.
