Monaco Secures Control of Ventimiglia Marina Through Strategic Acquisition
The Principality has acquired the Cala del Forte concession for Ventimiglia Marina from the Cozzi Parodi Group through its port subsidiary SMIP.
A significant maritime expansion has taken place as the Principality gains control of the Ventimiglia Marina concession through a strategic acquisition completed in December 2016.
The deal saw Béatrice Parodi's Cozzi Parodi Group transfer all shares of Cala del Forte, which holds the marina concession rights, to Monaco's port authority. The transaction was facilitated through the Société Monégasque Internationale Portuaire (SMIP), a subsidiary of Monaco Ports Exploitation Company.
The acquisition required approval from both Ventimiglia municipality and the Liguria Region, who endorsed the project's original development plans. This cross-border marina venture represents Monaco's continued investment in expanding its maritime infrastructure beyond the Principality's borders.
The Ventimiglia Marina sits strategically on the Italian Riviera, just across the border from Monaco, positioning it as a valuable addition to the region's yachting facilities.
